If Frank Sorrentino?s videos slamming his son Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino all seemed like a ploy for money, there may be good reason for that.

According to TMZ.com, the feud all comes down to a financial dispute the pair had when the elder Sorrentino asked the ?Jersey Shore? star for help paying medical insurance.

Mike not only refused, sources told the gossip site, but suggested his pops move to Florida and rely on welfare if he was having money problems.

Frank, who reportedly planned on paying his son back for whatever funds he loaned, alluded to the issue in his introductory video on TheConfrontationSite.com, where he described putting himself? ?on the line? for Mike ?a hundred f?? times.?

?I ask you one f?? favor and you tell me to go f?? be like a regular f?? Joe Blow and go on welfare?? Frank said. ?No, my friend. I don?t do that.?

?I love my son, Mike,? he continued. ?But you know what, Mike, when you get to the top and you forget where you came from, somebody should remind you. I just want to remind you.?

And he hopes to cash in in the process. In addition to seeking a publishing deal worth six figures for a tell-all book about Mike, TMZ.com reported Frank wants to have his own reality show, too.

If Frank can?t snag that, he?s also willing to do a talk show of sorts, the sources said. He just might not have the chance, if Mike has his way.

The ripped reality star?s rep, who said his client was ?extremely saddened by his estranged father?s actions,? is currently ?seeking the advice of legal counsel.?
